Welcome to the Samsung forum on CNET! Samsung worked with CNET to create a forum where people can ask questions and talk about all Samsung products and get help with everything from HDTVs, Smart TVs, home theater components, phones, cmaeras to monitors and printers. This forum is staffed by Samsung employees, but as we have seen in the past, often the most helpful answers come from CNET forum members themselves so please don't consider this just a Q and A with Samsung.
This is a CNET forum and Samsung is here to be part of the conversation. I can not update the firmware of my led tv Samsung led tv Model ue40b8000xpxxn I have tried to up date the firmware of my led tv with 2 different usb sticks. The tv system gives a screen that says looking for software update this can take 30 sec Then it say can not find new software There is only on dir on the stick and the files are in it just as the instruction say's The new firmware is LED TV UB7000, 8000 series USB Firmware (ver.T-CHU7DEUC-2004.0) i get it from the dutch samsung site Please can some tell me what the problem can be Thanxs. Hi HDTech, I am experiencing the same problem on a UE40b8000 xp model (I am from The Netherlands).
I would like to upgrade the firmware to see if it will fix the following problem: Playing AVI files from a USB stick or NAS device (DNLA) with subtitles (.srt files) results in the subtitles visible all the time. The lines refresh when a new line appears but long passages with no dialog still show the title for the previous dialog. This is very anoying.
Micromax Led Tv Software Update
I tried calling the Dutch support centre about this problem and the frimaware upgrade problem but unfortunately they are incapable of pointing me in the right direction. All thoughts are welcome. Regards, Bert. Hey, I had the same problem that I couldn't find the right firmware for my model. As I live in The Netherlands I would check on the locale Samsung site for the firmware, nothing there for the XP version of the 8000 LED series. When you go the Worldwide downloadcenter you can find a newer version.
I've just downloaded and installed it on my tv and it works great. You can download the firmware here: For the XP version the file T-CHUCIPDEUC is required not the version mentioned at the first post. Good luck to you all. Cheers, Bart. Might help, I was updating the firmware on my UE40C5000 (bought and used in Czech republic). At the support line in CZ there was no help at all. Then in the support line for UK the person was kind but didnt help either.
Servis point in CZ advised me to use not the newest firmware version, but load all of the versions available (2versions) on the samsung web site to the USB and the TV will use what it needs. There for dont try to load the latest try all of available versions. Used 2GB USB - formated FAT32. File from the Samsung.com downloaded to PC then extracting to the USB.

Tempting as I need a new PVR now that the Humax HDR Fox T2 is going to have to go back. Would have to wait for some sort of a review though before buying. Trusted Reviews have done a review on this and it scored 7/10. TR have gone from a review site which loathed 'Smart TV' but now they will pretty much dismiss a product out of hand if it doesn't have this feature or it doesn't compare with Samsung's efforts. Looks like it might need a firmware upgrade or two to bring it up to speed (but that is expected) and the plus points (that TR gloss over/miss) are that it has an almost discrete and tiny footprint and most importantly it should be completely silent when in operation.

Steve, you may have been better to continue/resurrect the thread as Freeview+ / Freeview HD+ PVRs are more often discussed in that PVR section. All shiv bhajans. However, now you are here with this Freeview HD+ box. In standby, is the machine recording - or about to record - a programme? As that will certainly have the machine in a state where it is 'spun up ready to rock and roll'.
You may like to try some 'squishy' rubber feet or matting under the unit as it is likely the surface it sits is acting as a 'sounding board' amplifying the noise? Have you asked the makers' for advice with this issue? They are more likely to know of problems that here as it's such a new device? I'm considering going for one of these, but one crucial factor will be the (non-)ability to pad scheduled recordings, to allow for programme underrun/overrun.
So, does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the start/end of scheduled recordings, either (a) manually by directly editing the start/end times, or (b) automatically via default pre-start/post-end padding values? I've had a look through the user guide and it would appear that the only edit options for a timer event are to delete it or move it wholesale to an alternative showing. Hope I'm wrong.
Click to expand. My HDT-610R is absolutely silent in standby. Sitting 4m away with TV on it makes no discernable noise, but close up you can hear a bit of hard drive noise. I have had mine for two weeks and it is to replace a Digitalstream PVR. The difference in the operation of the two is like night and day. It deletes in seconds so you can get on, unlike the DS that takes ages and you have to wait unable to do anything else. If anyone has any other questions I will try to reply, but I only use mine for very basic PVR operations as that's all I need.
